Anniversary Session: Lesleh + Austin
Spent a great evening with Lesleh and Austin down at Lacledes Landing last night. Even though it was cloudy, overcast and drizzling we still managed to have a good time.
Here are a couple of my favorites of this super fun couple....they're still newlyweds at only 4 years of wedded bliss!
More about them in the week to come so stay tuned. (Their anniversary was actually a few months back but this was the only time we could sync up our schedules to finally have their session.)

The Cousins
Every summer my sister-in-law, Nikki, and I try to arrange for our children, "The Cousins", to spend time together. We're both only-children, so it's always been important to have and be around family.
My two and her two are the only grandchildren on either side of the families so you know they're pretty spoiled. Here's a few pics of them being them.

Cousin Elam, Olivia, Cousin Aiden, and Ethan
Can you believe Elam and Ethan are the same age (8 1/2)? Elam is already over 5' tall!

Kids say the funniest things
The next time it rains, visualize that the clouds are peeing on us. Yep, that's what I said, the clouds are peeing on us. This according to my 8 yr. old son, Ethan.
We were driving home from swim lessons and he asks me if I know where rain comes from. I have no idea why that thought popped into his head since the sun was shining and the sky was a lovely blue. Here's how the conversation went.
He asks me, "Do you know where rain comes from?"
I say, "Yes, I do. Do you?"
He says, "Yes, some of the rain from the swimming pools evaporate into the sky"
I say, "Right, the moisture from the trees, grass, rivers, creeks .....
"...and oceans!" Ethan pipes in.
"...right, and oceans, evaporate into the air and accumulate in the clouds."
He jumps in and says, "Yeah, and when the clouds get thirsty they push a button and get a drink from the air... and then, when they have enough to drink, they need to go p..."
Before he could finish his sentence, I started to laugh so much that tears were rolling down my face....driving no less, (so a little hazardous there).
What is it with little boys and bodily functions? Ethan gets the biggest kick out of farting and burping and peeing...and I don't think little boys grow out of the fascination and the idea that it's humorous. What is a mother to do?
Hope you readers out there found it as funny as I did the thought processes of a boy.

Fun Out in the Fields
Just wanted to share about my day hanging out with Alisha Clark who let me tag along and shoot with her. We had a beautiful day out in Illinois at Hidden Lakes Winery. The bride and groom were such a fun couple. . . they were up for just about anything. They got down in marshy fields...
I think that's wheat (not too sure...can you tell I'm not a country girl?)

Double Rainbows
So the other day, the weather was kind of crazy. One minute it was raining like buckets and the wind was gushing and I was for sure that we were going to have a tornado (we are in a tornado prone area) . . . and the next minute the sun was shining.
You know what happens when the sun comes out while the rain is still pouring right?....of course, rainbows. These are the ones looking out from my front door...
I don't recall having seen a more beautiful double rainbow before. And here is the same rainbow looking from the back deck of my house.
It was just amazing. Don't you love rainbows? I heard there was a traffic jam on the highway by our house from all the people just stopping or slowing down to stare at the rainbows. Something as beautful as that had to be shared.

Too Cute For Words!
Recently, got to hang out with the adorable Maggie and her mom, Amanda, at New Town in St. Charles. Maggie is 5 years old but she plans on being America's Next Top Model . . . . check her out and see if you agree.
Here's her best ballerina imitation.Love the light on her here.
Look at those eyes!
Just too cute for words. I had so much fun hanging out with her. She's quite a chatty little thing and was showing me all her best moves from America's Next Top Model.
Thanks Maggie and Amanda for a fun afternoon!

A Few Lovely Ladies
I recently had the pleasure of shooting these lovely ladies . . . Nichole, Sara, Tiffany and Vita, while I was waiting for my other session to show up. They were such a blast. . . fun and flirty! Here's a few of my favorite shots.

Nichole (in front) looks pretty sultry, don't you think?
They all know how to work the camera, I'd say.
Look at those legs . . .

Hello
My very first blog post! You wouldn't believe how excited (and overwhelmed) I'm feeling right now. Up until a month or so ago, I had no idea what in the world a "blog" was and now....look at me, I have one. I will readily admit that I am "technologically challenged" (like a lot).... so, there's my excuse.
I've been talking and working with some pretty amazing photographers in the St. louis area and have been encouraged to get my blog up and running...so here I am. I'll also tell you about what I'm learning from them.
My goal for my upcoming posts is to put up some of my favorite images that I've been shooting this summer. So come back to see how I'm doing with this "blogging" thing.
